It’s true, sometimes we choose a high impact fibre for a particular product because it works better!
For example, we may choose a cotton-polyester blend (aka. high impact fibre) for our product because they wash better, and are simply more durable. Which means you can wear them more often before they break! Because if they break, these items will just end up in landfills anyway.

We take sustainability seriously, that’s why we need to evaluate ourselves to see if we’re doing enough as a brand. All of our products are graded out of 10 according to how ‘sustainable’ the item is produced and its environmental impact.

How Sustainable are our Fabrics?
There are many ways to grade how ‘sustainable’ and Eco-friendly a certain material is. Here is our criteria.
Grade A - Recycled Fabric
The best fabric to use is the one that already existed on our planet. Using recycled fabric means we are not creating any new fabrics or using any virgin materials. It is also a great way to reduce waste.
Grade B - Dead Stock Fabric
Using dead stock fabrics is the next best thing. As this means we are using materials that were going to end up in landfills and become waste. This way, we can make new things with existed textiles without taking more materials from the planet.
Grade C - Low Impact Fibre
A fibre that has a low impact on the environment during their production process - ie. low energy needed, low water needed or made with no soil erosion. This includes fabrics like Tencel, Cupro and Organic Cotton. However, please note that these fabrics are sometime blended with plastic such as Polyester.
Grade D - High Impact Fibre
A lot of fibre have a high negative impact on the environment, as it may need high water, high energy or toxic chemicals during the production process. Fabrics with plastic blend such as polyester are also non biodegradable - meaning it can take up to 200 years to decompose and lasts forever in a form of micro-plastics (very bad for us, our ocean and our animal friends).
